Jeff Burum is a Southern California business leader with more than 40 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate development, fund management, and community building. Over the course of his career, he has co-founded and guided organizations that have transformed communities across the Inland Empire and beyond.

In 1990, Jeff co-founded Diversified Pacific, a real estate company specializing in land acquisition, entitlement, homebuilding, and residential lot development. Through its affiliates, Diversified has served as both general contractor and broker for its communities. In 2008, he established Diversified Pacific Opportunity Fund. Today, Diversified is active in apartments, mixed-use projects, and hotel development.

In 1991, Jeff co-founded the Southern California Housing Development Company, which later evolved into National Community Renaissance (National CORE), now one of the nation’s largest nonprofit affordable housing developers. National CORE owns and manages more than 16,000 units nationwide, valued at over $4 billion. To expand its impact, Jeff launched the Hope Through Housing Foundation in 1998, providing programs in education, economic mobility, and senior wellness to more than 27,000 residents a year. Under his leadership, CORE became one of only two affordable housing developers in the U.S. to earn an A+ rating from S&P Global Ratings, underscoring its financial strength and stability. Jeff also represented the industry nationally as one of 22 real estate professionals appointed by Congress to serve on a federal housing commission, tasked with shaping federal housing policy.

In 1997, Jeff formed The Colonies Partners, L.P. to acquire and develop 447 acres in Upland, California. Under Jeff’s leadership the master plan was replanned to help the economic vitality of the City of Upland by creating a landmark shopping center that features as a cornerstone of economic activity in the Inland Empire.
Beyond real estate, Jeff invests in regional enterprise and sports as the Managing Partner of the Empire Strykers, the only major professional team to play in the Inland Empire. As the league president Jeff is leading the MASL into new standards and expanding it across the nation to bring the league into communities throughout the country to inspire the next generation.

Jeff has served on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards, including AIG SunAmerica Asset Management Company, Golden State Bank, and Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity. As an entrepreneur that cares about his community, Jeff has led activities that have helped the economically disadvantaged families from shopping sprees via the Colonies Holiday Miracles to providing free soccer training at unparalleled levels throughout our community. Throughout his career, he has supported initiatives and public leaders focused on affordable housing, economic development, and community sustainability.
